Although I cannot yet speak to claims, and hope I never have to, I can applaud Liberty Mutual for competitive cost for their products. Where some other insurance companies tend to over-insure, which drives actual premiums up, Liberty mutual takes time to understand exactly what you as the customer actually needs. This philosophy presented a product that reduced my home owner and rental property premiums by 22% below my existing insurance and 19% below my lowest quote. As well, my auto policy was reduced by 24% with the same exact coverage being offered. The representative I spoke with over the phone was helful, knowledgeable and took the time I needed, which was considerable, to understand their product and closley match existing coverage I had on all of my properties and vehicles.

Liberty Mutual is a great insurance company. Great Customer Service, Always there when I need them. Ignore the upset customer's comments. These are probably customers that do not follow through with requirements on their part. Great Job Liberty Mutual.

I HAVE A CLAIM WITH LIBERTY MUTUAL AND I AND NOT HAPPY WITH THEM AT ALL. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SOMETHING THEY NEED TO WORK ON.

We just bought an older home (1920's) with some branch circuits using knob and tube wiring. We were referred to Liberty Mutual through our real estate agent's concierge service. Note they called us; we did not seek them out. I filled out an application over the phone during which 1) we were never asked if we had knob and tube wiring and 2) I explicitly told them we had older wiring in the house and we intended to get portions of it replaced. When I received the written application in the mail, it suggested that we DID NOT have knob and tube wiring. I tried calling them twice before closing to determine the implications for this discrepancy. I was told someone from underwriting would call me back. I heard nothing until 4 weeks AFTER closing when they told me I would have to replace EVERY INCH of knob and tube wiring in the house or they would drop me. It was an absolutely AWFUL experience. I suspect that 1) Liberty Mutual did not really want to recognize the knob and tube wiring so that, in event of a claim, they could be absolved of responsibilities and 2) they want an absolutely risk free situation (which is impossible) so they have no obligations to cover claims. I talked with an insurance lawyer who suggested these kinds of practices are not uncommon. I would highly discourage any proud home owner from insuring their home with Liberty Mutual.

The worst company when it comes to workers comp. You are guilty of fraud until proven innocent, and then they still believe you are fraudulant. They ignore you until you threaten and/or take them to court for a hearing. They love to ignore doctors request for treatment. They are a pathetic excuse for an insurance provider, they definately treat you as a case number & try to see if they can frustrate you to the point of hoping you will disappear. When I see their commercials on TV telling how they care and are there for you, it makes me sick to my stomach.

Liberty is an exceptional company. I love the fact that they promote repsonsibility. Great customer service, and great agents! They have far exceeded my expectations
