They lie, they do not service the customer that pays for their service, they cause an enormous amount of stress, they probably cause more illness due to the stress they bring on to their customers, they falsley claim to insure services and then deny the claims.

This is by the far the worst insurance I have ever had. I pay over $600 per month for coverage that covers almost nothing. They turn down every claim and play games with the provider and the member in order to give a final denial. I have had the coverage 7 months and not one bill has been covered, thus far. I would be better off financially without this expensive "non"-coverage, but it is a legal requirement to have health insurance in my state and since my family of 4 makes more than $58,000, we have to pay full premiums. RIDICULOUS!

I was covered by Cigna through Oct 31st 2008. I had annual service done on Oct 28th 2008 which was called and verified on the day of service. Now they are not paying my claim and they stated that my coverage ended on the 28th. I have official paper work that stated my coverage is through the 31st of 2008. It seems that a clerical error has been made and they will not acknowledge it and they reject my claims. They stated that if I call on the day of the service, this has no bearing since computers take 2 days to update information that is submitted.

Unfortunately my husband just lost his job due to work slowdown. We have had company sponsored Cigna health insurance for the last several years, before the lay offs, and were totally satisfied. They have nurses who call you and discuss your health issues, totally private and not reported to company..just for your benefit. They paid all claims quickly and honorably. We can't afford the COBRA to keep them going and it is a REAL disappointment and scarey as well, but if we could keep it we would!

Site is the biggest piece of sh_t I have ever tried to use. HCSA calims not posted for over 3 weeks and when they finaly did post did not include Eye doctor claim. Had to go through works rep to get anything done.

It is extremely difficult to find a decent provider within their network such as physical therapists. Claims and bills are not recieved in a timely manner. Most of the time you will recieve a claim 9 months to a year after the date of service. There is a constant problem with services being billed incorrectly and In-Network providers being charged as out of network. Be prepared to spend alot of time on the phone disputing claims. It's a total headache and I can't wait until open enrollment to discontinue my health insurance with Cigna.

I am so happy that I got my father insured under the Cigna Medicare plan. If you want to show your love towards your parents, I would advice you to do as what I have done. Now I feel relaxed and happy that I have acted responsibly by helping them get the best Medicare plan available. If you are business employer who wants to give insurance to your employees who are planning for an early retirement, then I would suggest you from my personal experience that Cigna is your best choice. I have felt the care from their customer support team which can be more clearly called customer care. They were caring me under their protection since I joined them.

We are extremely unhappy with Cigna, after being forced to switch from Optimum choice at the beginning of 2008. Finding a doctor other than a general practioner is impossible. (And I don't live in a desolate area). We've had problems finding, just in a few months time: developmental pediatrician, child psychologist, adult counseling services. Pathetic! If you have any children with any health/mental/psycholgical issues, research thoroughly. We are spending thousands out of pocket for one of our sons with developmental delays. There are "exclusion" clauses everywhere we turn. His care is excluded almost across the board. Many of our existing physicians and caregivers told me they had previous bad experiences with Cigna, being reimbursed, etc., so they wouldn't particiapte with them. So, Cigna treats it's providers pretty bad as well as it's members. I hope and pray we can get new insurance when the time comes this fall. Good luck trying to reach a real person on their member services line also.
