Not happy with their customer service or practices. We have had every bill paid fine except a $8K surgery bill....now they deny us and delay it....tomorrow my husband is taking it to his work's H.R. department.

Today, Dec 18, 2009, I received a letter telling me a procedure from Sept 2008 is not covered. I don't even have this insurance anymore. If they didn't cover it then they should have made that determination in 09. It took them over a year to decide this and mail me a letter out of the blue? It seem there should be a statute of limitations for them to contact you about a claim they don't feel they should pay. If it wasn't covered I should of been informed of that so i could decide whether to have the procedure preformed.

Cigna is THE worst health insurance. They care nothing about the individual and treat you as a NOTHING. Their only concern is profits. It's been total aggravatiom with Cigna. They represent the worst of corporate America. If you have a choice to pick another health insurance please do so. If you have no choice like me due to your employer only offering this "bottom of the barrel" insurance I'll pray you don't have any serious illness because if you do GOD HELP YOU. Cigna is garbage.

CIGNA has been good. I have had to use my plan more that I would have liked last year. There have been no glitches with claims, bills, or any other service that I have used.

I am writing in behalf of a friend. It is almost a year now since this friend was hospitalized. Claims for reimbursement of expenses have been made and nothing in sight yet after 10 months. All required documents have already been submitted - hospital records, hospital bills, etc...etc... and nothing yet.... How long does it take to process a claim?...ANYONE FROM CIGNA WHO CAN ANSWER THIS QUESTION?.......

90% of claims rejected immediately for frivolous reasons (assume other insurance, duplicate charge, need more information of medical reasons for claim) Even after issue is resolved by calling customer support numerous times, up to 45 days later, additional letters of denial are sent out. No letters of approvals are ever sent.

Summary
This is by the far the worst insurance I have ever had. I pay over $600 per month for coverage that covers almost nothing. They turn down every claim and play games with the provider and the member in order to give a final denial. I have had the coverage 7 months and not one bill has been covered, thus far. I would be better off financially without this expensive "non"-coverage, but it is a legal requirement to have health insurance in my state and since my family of 4 makes more than $58,000, we have to pay full premiums. RIDICULOUS!
