| Summary |
I never even received my prescription card, so I could never use the prescription coverage I was supposed to have. When I called about this, I was told to pay out of pocket, fill out a claim form, send the receipts...problem was that I didn't have the more than $200 I needed to get all of my prescriptions filled. My claims kept getting denied, come to find out that even though Assurant had collected over $115 for my one month health insurance short-term plan coverage, my policy was listed as "inactive" in their system. I had to call Assurant 5 times to get everything straightened out, and I only had coverage for 30 days. I got the run around and am still dealing with unresolved issues from my short-term plan and receiving medical bills, which state that I "could not be identified as a member" of Assurant. This policy was recommended by the alumni association of my university, and I contacted them to strongly encourage that they discontinue endorsing Assurant via GradMed. Do yourself a favor and avoid this incompetent company. |
