I filled a claim last summer and still have yet to get a reponse to if They will cover it or not, I was told it would be covered by my agent, and the claims lady said no, so I was told to send pictures and I still can not get a person or agent to call me.

American Family is great insurance until.... you have a claim. I am going on the second roof where I had to pay for it myself. This one is 8 years old and they said they saw hail damage but, it was old age damage, and thus not covered. I can not believe what crooks they are! They will promise you the moon and deliver pond scum if you us them you get what you deserve.

The claims adjuster was totally biased and unfair. Next step is to go to arbitration. I will never use American Family again!

Been with Am Fam for 20 years and now switching. Frequently raising prices without logical explanations. Example: They cite individual credit rating as one factor to influence policy price. I have a good credit rating on my auto coverage and a bad credit rating on your home. Rating is not influenced by claims but as they state your credit score which in my case it is 770. Also, local agent does not return calls and seldom captures accurate information on policies.

I have just filed a claim with American Family on my tractor and a couple other things stolen from my barn. The adjuster finally showed up after 5 days and the first thing he wanted to assure me of is that I dont have enough coverage and he started telling me what they wouldn't cover because of him considering my stuff farm equipment even though I dont farm. He says unless specifically endorsed I have no coverage because its not considered personal property. They consider my stuff farm equipment. I pay a premium on 230000.00 of home insurance and 172000.00 in personal property just to fing out Im not covered. It seems they find a loop hole to not pay.

WE HAVE BEEN WITH AMERICAN FAMILY INSURANCE FOR OVER 10 YRS. REPLACED OUR WATER HEATER AND GARBAGE DISPOSAL NO PROBLEM,THAT WAS 5 YRS AGO. 4 MONTHS AGO OUR SEPTIC HAD PROBLEMS AND WE CALLED AND THEY SAID 'NO PROBLEM.CALL FOR SERVICE. WELL THE PROBLEMS STARTED WHEN IT CAME TIME FOR US TO COLLECT.THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS JUST DOWN RIGHT RUDE!, MADE US FEEL LIKE WE WERE STEALING FROM THEM.IT TOOK MY WIFE NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS AND PLAYING TAG WITH DIFFERENT REPS,UNTILL THEY FINALLY DECIDED TO CUT US A CHECK FOR $125.68, 3 MONTHS LATER.ITS NOT MUCH $ BUT IT WAS A MATTER OF PRINCIPLE.I AM SADDEN THAT THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS GONE DOWN THE TOILET AND STRAIGHT TO MY SEPTIC TANK.

Had hail damage, had adjuster out and claim done, roof redone and settled all with 3 weeks no jerking around or double talk, very satisified

I have had all my insurance through American Family for 4 yrs, My local agent is great, I love them, but they are only an agent. The corp. raised our rates for no reason, no tickets perfect driving record. They ripped me off, I will never go back again. I was also randomely selected for aa premium increase, how is that even legal? BEWARE!!1 I have never filed a claim for auto or homeowners, yet they raise my rates, there must be some polatician in the corp headquarters, who needs his head examined.

We've had two different incidents where we/our vehicles were struck by an American Family policy holder, and both times we have had slower that slow claim service, and just all out annoyance. When you have a liability claim, take care of those people too.

We switched to this company because we were told that this was the best insurance we could ever purchase. This is a great company on paper as long as you never need to file a claim and actualy use the insurance that you have purchased. This company will do everything they can to find a exclusion to not have to cover you. It sure makes you feel like this is a waist to pay insurance as a requirement and know that you still will not be secure of coverage. What is the point. This company has the worst customer relation I have ever delt with. The agents don't even come out to meet with you when you have a claim, they just want to handle over the phone. Now I know why. This is so they don't have do deal with you in person and tell you they found a loop hole to not cover you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
